Supervisor Speak

Starting over on Tabas Tract. What does it mean?

Starting from the beginning means going back to the Warrington Planning Commission members to review ammending the Comprehensive Plan, the CBD Ordinance and ammending the Zoning Map.

On December 12, 2002 the planning commission will hold a meeting for these reviews. Mr. Fred Achenbach and Mr. Lee Fien's terms both expire on December 31, 2002. The supervisors will have to appoint two members to a four year term at the organizational meeting in January. It doesn't make any sense to allow a planning commission meeting to take place, until the appointments are made in January.

Did the supervisors create a lame duck planning commission to annoy the 1100 residents who sign the petition and filed the appeal? Unless my fellow board members are going to re-appoint Mr. Achenbach and Mr. Fien back to the planning commission, the meeting should not take place.

I have concerns about re-appointing Mr. Achenbach. He is a township employee and chairman of the planning commission which withheld a traffic study from the supervisors on the Tabas Tract. Mr. Fein is employed by a company who represents Mr. Tabas and Metro Development Company. Mr. Fien never acknowledged the conflict.

The December 12th meeting should be cancelled. The meeting should be held in January after the new or old members are appointed by the supervisors. This is the proper procedure. Remember not following procedure is what created this mess.
