The article titled "Take a closer look" by Ed Butterworth points out his view of our government in action using politics in their favor.
Here is my point of view. Becky Keifer responded to The Intelligencer in a letter to the editor. She stated "Politics as Usual." She is absolutely correct. Warrington Township has a personnel policies and procedures handbook. Her name is published on the cover along with Supervisors Paul, Fein, McKay and Butterworth.
On page 55 of the employees handbook is a section titled Political Activity. It states Warrington Township is a non-partisan, government enity and does not affiliate with any political cause or group. Township employees shall refrain from campaigning, political activity, or using their influence in any way for or against a candidate for an elective office in the TOWNSHIP government. It goes on saying that the policy doesn't refrain you from participating in other political causes or becoming a member of a political organization. It just points out not Warrington Township Political activity.
So here is where I need your help. I have just proven Supervisors John Paul, Lee Fein and Becky Keifer violated township policy. For God Sake, they are their employers. What an example to set for your employees! The three of them totally abused their position with respect to politics. If an employee expressed their concerns against Supervisors Paul & Appointed Supervisor Lee Fein, what do you think Paul, Fein and Keifer would do? They would fire them or reprimand them according to the employee handbook.
Please tell me what punishment should I and Supervisor Glenn McKay impose on them. Should we ask them to step down as supervisors, or have them sit with their face in the corner for the township meetings?
