Political signs are they effective? What are they saying? Is bigger really better? Is a 7 1/2 square foot sign legal?

Is bigger really necessary? Political signs make a statement. What kind of statement and what are they saying to the voters? Well, it depends where they are placed, if they meet township zoning code and do they have the property owners' permission? If any of the above do not apply, then you know what they are really saying to the voters.

Where the signs are placed on properties, are the properties coming before the board or have they been to the board already for approval? The size of the signs are determined by the township zoning ordinance. Do they meet the township ordinance? Can the candidates provide owners permission in writing upon request?

Lyons & Butterworth have had their signs stolen off of the residents property. The residents were on the look out. The people were caught and they apologized to the owners.

A Lyons & Butterworth sign was placed on a property with the owners permission, within two hours it was removed and replaced with a John Paul & Lee Fein sign. I asked the owner why was Lyon & Butterworth sign taken down? The owner responded by saying," I had second thoughts."

Let me tell you a secret. At my place of business, The Mews Shopping Center, Donald Lankford , developer and Supervisor John Paul's employer, placed Paul & Fein campaign signs all over the shopping center about twenty signs on a Sunday afternoon. The owner, my landlord, pull all of the signs because they never asked permission to put them up. My landlord recieved a phone call saying they were calling from U.S. Congressman Michael Fitzpatrick office. They went on to say the congressman is asking permission to allow John Paul & Lee Fein campaign signs to be put in the shopping center property. I called the congressman and asked why did he do it. Our congressman said,"No way did I authorize anyone from this office to make such a request." He went on to say,"He would never make such a request." I totally believe him. He is looking into this matter and will get back to me.

Let me tell you another secret. During the Butterworth & McKay supervisor election property owners were called on the phone to remove MY signs. A property owner told me he was imformed that if he wanted to do anything to his property he better give it a second thought. Talk about political pressure.

I approached over 10 people to run for Warrington Township Supervisor. I even wrote a Letter to the Editor offering anyone my help in filing their petition and answering any questions one might have. Everyone I spoke to had fear of their own government. They were concerned of harassment to themselves or their family for running against incumbents. They said the supervisors are very powerful and they do and get anything they want. They do not need any kind of trouble.

P.S. The Paul & Fein big campaign signs are 7 1/2 square feet, while zoning allows for only 6 square feet. The township WOULD NOT ALLOW A HOMEOWNER to go against zoning regulations. So what makes Supervisor John Paul and appointed Supervisor Lee Fein so special?
