A Message of Thanks from Andy Lyons

From my temporary duty station here at Camp Atterbury, Indiana, I wish to thank all who supported Ed Butterworth and myself during the recent Republican primary election.

In this great country, people are entitled to the government they deserve. I'm sure you've heard this said before. It rang true again during this past election when 15 percent of the electorate turned out to cast their votes. If you're reading this, I'm probably preaching to the choir.

Political machines are hard to beat. Even knowing this, we were not about to resort to telling lies via mail or phone, nor were we about to accept monetary donations in order to finance our own political machine. Folks, I have nothing to be ashamed of. I sleep well every night. I am my own man, so is Ed Butterworth. No amount of lies can stop me, as lies have not stopped my fellow watchdogs in the past. We (Ed and I) don't owe anything to anyone. We don't depend on anyone's largess save for the voters. In short, we are clean. We depended solely on the people of Warrington to discern for themselves whether or not they should re-elect a supervisor and elect another to serve for six long years. The people have spoken.

I want to thank Carol Butterworth, Ed Butterworth and Glenn McKay for their very hard work and dedication, not to me, but to the community of Warrington. I would like to thank my family, friends, and neighbors for their very hard work and support also. My only regret is not being at the polls to greet and thank each of you personally for coming out in support of honest, decent government in Warrington. I will of course, be in touch with Warrington issues and events on a regular basis. As always, I will speak up and yes, legally challenge this board whenever I feel it necessary, wherever I find myself. This board majority cannot go unwatched, not for one week, and I will continue to watch it.

Again, my many thanks to everyone who supported us against the infected political establishment and we hope you will continue your diligence as we try to unseat those who stand against a government by the people and for the people. God bless you all.
