Regarding the Intelligencer article, "Officials Knew Kraft's Record" dated, Sept.17,2005, this Warrington Watchdog wants to know who is "we" and "they" and "when" did they know about it?
This is an absolute disgrace that needs further investigation. Giving a person a government credit card, with a known criminal background is like saying, "Go have fun, go entertain yourself and shop for anything you want". Brian Kraft was charged with theft 1989 and twice in 1991. Give me a break! Why would Supervisor Chairman Jerry Anderson create a new position within the Ambulance Corps for the sake of giving Brian Kraft a second chance?
I think there is more to this secret decision.
Supervisor Chairman John Paul speaks of "violating the public trust". He is the pot calling the kettle black! Supervisor John Paul had use of a government credit card and purchased personal items for himself and his friends. Supervisor Paul no longer works for the County of Bucks. Supervisor John Paul now works for developer, Donald Lankford.
Supervisor Paul is the Ambulance Corp liaison to the Board of Supervisors and failed to notify the board members of this issue. I received many phone calls and e-mails since the first article appeared from people who knew about Brian Kraft, but were AFRAID to come forward sooner. We are talking about taxpayers monies. How could the township, knowing of the past financial situation of the Ambulance Corp, allow this to happen twice? Why wasn't a check and balance system set up when Mr. Kraft's position was created? The township paid him a salary with an enticement to steal. Why didn't the township keep an eye on him? So may secrets about taxpayers monies. I believe the political buddies are keeping the secrets. I am not a political buddy with my fellow board members. They are taking care of themselves. There is a saying, " Politics is not corrupt, it is only if you allow it." The township must be accountable for the taxpayer's monies.
Another financial mess in Warrington...
The Fire Marshall submitted bills to the township for a program designed by himself to benefit his fellow firefighters. He never received approval by the Board of Supervisors for this program. The Board of Supervisors must vote for it and budget the money for it. Supervisors Paul, Fien, Kiefer, McKay and Butterworth have not approved the checks which already have been cashed. The Fire Marshall and Brian Kraft, who is under investigation for stealing, never informed the entire firefighters that this was not approved by the board of supervisors.
The firefighters should be allowed to keep the checks that were issued under false pretense. They are innocent. The Fire Marshall should pay back the unauthorized monies.
