How Does Warrington Look from Iraq? An Endorsement

In May of this year I did the unthinkable....I ran for Supervisor in Warrington. I put up my own money, knocked on no doors, told no lies verbally or in writing, strong-armed no township employeees or business persons, promised nobody anything except my demonstrated unselfish, hard work ethic to the benefit of the citizen/taxpayers of Warrington. My opponent brought a large political money machine to bear against me and my running mate, told lies about me in writing, got the newspaper to expose my personal life which involved my untimely, no-notice mobilization to Iraq (where I type at this moment) and basically went full out against myself and Ed Butterworth. We lost the 1 seat needed to clean up Warrington by 85 votes. That a pretty weak showing when you can't whip 2 newcomers to politics who had their hands tied behind thier backs. This was in some ways more heartbreaking to me than being sent to Iraq on 9 days notice. If these people had nothing to hide, why would they spend this kind of money, make up outrageous lies, hide behind unscrupulous lawyers, co-opt our website, and throw Warr. citizens overboard so many times? They have a lot to hide, because they are not of themselves, they are of someone else's agenda. They are simply tools...pawns. Worst of all, it's all done on the cheap.

If you have read the many articles I have written on this site, you know that I can write long, verbose descriptions of what goes on in Warrington, based on my attendance and archival of the Supervisor and "No Planning" Commission meetings. I have neither the time now, nor the recent attendance at those meetings to deliver a long dialogue on what has transpired since my departure, however, I do follow the action online with the newspaper websites and of course, this very special courageous and useful website. I have noticed, while I've been gone, that things are not getting better in Warr. Things will never get better in Warrington until the grip of special interests around the necks of Warrington citizens is broken.

A loyal Republican, I ran on the Republican ticket. A lot of Republicans pull the straight ballot for the party, assuming it will result in lower taxes. Not so in Warrington. Our Warrington Republican politicians (most were former Democrats when Warrington was run by Democrats, and had a clean, trustworty, reliable, honest twp. govt.) are simply owned by developers and other special interests, and I include those twp. employees who are political operatives. I won't go into this in depth because I already have for over 4 years now.

My message is the same as my message to the Iraqi people I enounter every day. Root out the corruption, take pride and take back control of your community from the few corrupt, bad people. Do not be afraid and above all Vote, for God's and Allah's sake, VOTE. Bring your relatives and friends with you. This election could be the last gasp of some very hard working, honest and concerned people, who are trying to turn over control of the township away from blatant, unabashed, and arrogant businessmen and their spineless enablers, who are interested only in their personal gain by "partcipating" in local govt. I'm talking about puppets on a string held by powerful interests (who don't live here by the way) that are not doing you, the taxpayer/citizen a damn bit of good.

By the way, please accept my heartfelt endorsement of Mike Lamond and Paul Plotnick for Supervisors in Warrington. Party politics have no place in a local municipal election. Vote for the honest men, who, unlike their opponents, have nothing to hide. Give them a chance.
